Fabio Vogel’s pieces are formed using a combination of methodologies.
In the approach to creating the pieces, Vogel Studio allows the concept of ‘fire-as-element’ to direct this design process. In crafting pieces from hand-blown glass, the contrasting relationship between the destructive power of fire and it’s creative strength is an ever present reality.
Fluid hot glass is blown into oilsand, imprinting its rough, crumbly textures to crystalize into a stone like object with a high brilliance. This special moulding sand is mainly used in the casting industry.
Each glass object is hand signed and always one of a kind, created in very limited runs.
