Rug, Henge 01
$4,810.00 – $16,090.00
Hand woven in Nepal.
Studio Daniel Costa’s first collection of rugs which is rooted in the mountains of Nepal, the ground where yak, sheep and goat graze and over thousands of years have adopted to whipping weathers. Where the mountains set the tone to life and survival, to mythology and craft.
Daniel’s ‘Henge’ rug is made in collaboration with Van Caster of Belgium (founded in 1936) from hand-spun Tibetan sheep-wool and nettle fibre, from a long lineage of local artisans. Tibetan sheep wool is characterised by its long and durable nature. Nettle is a plant fibre with innate strength and silent beauty, lending firmness and tactility to textiles. In folklore nettle is attributed to the powers of fertility and protection.
Each rug brings life, character and timeless elegance to contemporary and traditional interiors. The primal appearance of these rugs, creates a feeling of movement and depth, while celebrating artisanal craftsmanship with luxurious results.
Due to the hand made attributes of each rug there maybe slight variation in texture, colour & pattern and size tolerance of 2-3%.
Suitability: Indoor use, residential and light commercial.
