Carl Auböck model #4273 ‘Foot’ brass paperweight. Designed in the 1950s and made from solid brass, using the original cast. A timeless piece that will add a modernist’s whimsy to any creatives surface. The solid brass form was a favourite of Bauhaus founder Walter Gropius, who kept one on his desk along with several other Auböck-designed objects.
The Viennese workshop of Carl Auböck, exists now for over 120 years and for four generations. Currently produced by Carl Auböck IV in the original Auböck Werkstätte in the 7th district of Vienna using the same exacting standards, high-quality materials, original moulds and techniques of his legendary grandfather remains among the last of it’s kind. The archive today includes more than 4,500 designs.
