Silvia K
Silvia k ceramics are a contemporary interpretation of simple historical objects with a strong focus on function and colour. While the origins of her early work can be traced to her Slovakian heritage, her later work has influences from the Mediterranean peasant ceramic ware; from sources as diverse as Spanish pharmacy jars and French confit pots.
Authenticity and simplicity lie at the heart of potter Silvia Kamodyova’s craft. Every aspect of her production takes place in-house, including using the wheel to throw the initial shapes; building the moulds which are formed from her initial drawings; creating her unique glazes and cutting the leather handles for her ceramics platters.
