Luke Eastop
Luke Eastop is a ceramicist based in Margate, Kent. Luke’s journey into working with clay started at the home of his late grandfather, the potter Geoffrey Eastop. Geoffrey’s studio was an aggregation of a lifetime of work dating back to the 1950’s, which provided an especially inspiring and formative environment.
Luke’s father, Ben Eastop, another renowned ceramicist in the family who captivated Luke’s attention, inspired and encouraged his son to experiment with the basic element of form and function. Through his experimentation, Luke developed a modern and pared down style all of his own. Luke continues to use the stains, glaze recipes, wheel and kiln that was passed on to him, to throw graceful ceramic shapes in a unique palette of ethereal colours.
